California Medicare Supplement: How To Choose The Best Plan

medicare supplement No Comments »

If you are shopping for a California Medicare Supplement, here are three things to consider, so you can have peace of mind and save money on your supplemental insurance.

1) In California, all Medicare Supplemental plans are “standardized.” Essentially this means that the only difference between two “like” plans is the price. A Supplement Plan F from Company ABC offers the SAME EXACT benefits as a Plan F from Company XYZ.

2) In California, there is a unique law, often referred to as the “birthday law.” In essence, this means that in California, you can change your Medicare Supplement plan every year (on your birthday and 30 days thereafter) and be guaranteed issue. This means that even if you are sick, the insurance company can’t turn you down if you change plans during your birthday period.

3) Because both price and the review of your plan each year is important, you should find a broker who can review and compare all of the plans in your area to find out if you have the best plan for the lowest possible price.

Medicare Supplement Quote: Getting Yours May be Scarier Than You Think!

A lot of people are going online to get a Medicare Supplement Quote. The process though can be a very scary and in fact, can leave someone vulnerable to unscrupulous agents. Here’s why:

Many of our customers that go looking for a quote do a search, click on a link and then enter their contact information. But here is where it gets a bit tricky.

Many websites that look like an Medicare Supplement brokerage are really nothing more than affiliate websites, designed to collect your information and sell it off to the highest bidder (which usually means 5-10 agents). These sites don’t care about getting Medicare beneficiaries the appropriate coverage, all they care about is selling leads!

Honest folks get scammed into thinking they are getting a quote from a legitimate site, but in reality, they open the floodgates to get over-run by a bunch of hungry insurance agents.

When 10 insurance agents call you all at once, it can be a very scary experience. How do you know you are getting a quote that is in your best interest?

We have found that many agents will say almost anything just to make a sale. It is much safer to find a brokerage that will take the time, ask you the right questions (without the pressure) and help you find the best plan for you at the lowest possible price.

To get your now, why not visit our website at MedicareNational.com. Our goal is to help you feel secure, save money and get the plan that is right for you.

In an amazing story by Bloomberg and David Olmos posted yesterday, Dec. 31 (Bloomberg) — The Mayo Clinic, praised by President Barack Obama as a national model for efficient health care, will stop accepting Medicare patients as of tomorrow at one of its primary-care clinics in Arizona, saying the U.S.

This story is really big news for Medicare. It is my opinion that Mayo has fired a shot across the bow. Many in government have stated the desire to cut Medicare and now, health care providers are fighting back.

Medicare and are going to be a huge topic of discussion as more and more seniors are marginalized and left without adequate coverage.
